Talking Tarni | July Review
This month marked an important milestone for us at Tarni Resources.
We officially launched on July 11th with a clear, powerful mission: Connecting communities with opportunities, no matter the distance.
We also welcomed new team members to Tarni, as our core Remote Rideshare service continues to expand its reach and impact. Read on to hear more about the month that was. We also invite you to follow us on social media to stay in the loop. You can find us on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
Bringing Our Mission to Life
Opportunities are only as good as the ability one has to access them. This concept formed the bedrock for the inception of Tarni Resources. For individuals in remote communities across Australia, geographical divides can significantly hinder the ability to access employment opportunities and essential services. That's where our innovative Remote Rideshare service comes in.
The service offers reliable, effective, and affordable transport solutions for individuals living in remote communities and regional industrial centres, and for organisations aiming to attract and retain local talent. Remote Rideshare includes community travel support, heritage survey transport, and airport and site transfers. Through this service, we aim to bridge the gap between Indigenous communities and important centres of activity and employment.
Welcoming Tarni’s New Remote Rideshare Drivers
An integral part of our journey this month was welcoming Clive, a Nyamal and Walpri man, and Jodi, a Nyul Nyul woman, to the Tarni Resources family. Calling Marapikurrinya (Port Hedland) home for many years, Clive has developed a sound understanding of the region and its surrounding communities, and his inaugural shift was particularly special.
Three years ago, Clive’s son began a Traineeship that has often required lengthy trips across country to access. When Clive joined Tarni Resources as a Remote Rideshare driver, it just so happened that his first trip was to drive his son to work. This special moment perfectly encapsulates our core values of people, family, and country, and we look forward to seeing Clive continue to support his son and his other passengers over time.
For Jodi, her role sees her cover plenty of country each week, and she has already helped dozens of people get to and from their destinations safely. Our team of drivers, like Clive and Jodi, are Indigenous community members with vast cultural and geographical knowledge of the regions they service, and it is our hope that their impact creates ripples throughout the community.
Looking Ahead
The weeks since our launch have been an exciting journey of growth, connection, and positive impact. We’ll be sharing more stories of our people, their impact, and the change we are striving to bring about for Indigenous peoples, businesses, and communities across Australia.
